A silver plated covered serving dish for entrees made by the Charles S. Green Company in England. The stamp on the back was used between 1907 and 1982 but I believe that this was made in the 1950s or 1960s, The dish includes a removable tray; those more knowledgeable than I have told me that this was to allow for ice or hot water to be placed in the bottom to keep food hot or cold.
The bowl beneath the tray is 6" wide and the overall width of the dish is 8 1/4". The removable tray is 5 3/4" and the height of the dish to the top of its handle is 5 1/2". The lid is 3 3/4" high and 6 1/4" wide. It has been used so there is wear and there is some tarnish on the lid.
