The Jeanette Glass Company began operation in 1887 in Jeanette, Pennsylvania. During the Great Depression they survived by producing beautiful Tiffany like pieces at a fraction of the cost because of their production methods. These pieces became very popular as they were often given away with purchases at fuel stations and grocery stores. The glass was a simple way to enjoy luxuries that weren't available to many at that time in history. Many of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers treasured their Depression Glass pieces and passed them down to their daughters. This double candle holder is one such piece from Jeanette Glassware. It makes a lovely centerpiece as a reminder of that strong, resilient generation. This piece measures approximately 5 1/2"tall by 6" wide and holds 2 candle tapers.
