@mscynthiaanne thanks for reaching out. The total length with the flip flop is 10 inches, which measures flat. The chain can be removed/replaced. The included chain is almost 18 inches when un clasped a measure flat, not doubled. let me know if this makes sense or if you have any other questions.😊
