Donna Karan Collection bronze & black platform stiletto, size EU40/US9-9.5, new

I bought these magnificent bronze & black woven leather sandals by Donna Karan with full awareness that I'd probably never walk in them. All my dragony instincts drove me to acquire these pretties, no matter the cost! Seriously though, can you blame me? Was there ever a more lethal stiletto than this shoe? The aforementioned heel appears to have been whittled out of solid gold: just the heel alone is a singular work of art. I had this pair on display for a while and have decided to set them free to be worn by an absolute diva with discerning taste in footwear. It's not easy to see in the photos, but there are some minor scuffs on the soles as if they were worn indoors for a bit. I suspect this pair was returned by someone more practical than I, someone who naively thought, as I once did, that if only they practiced for a bit they too might be able to manage a gazelle-like gait in these shoes. Judging by the markings, I can only surmise that the best they could manage was a feeble totter around the living room and back to the box. More than I ever managed, I assure you. Regardless, the shoes arrived with no dustbag and some very disappointed markings on the soles. The uppers are pristine. I have mad respect for anyone who can gracefully navigate a set of stairs in a pair of almost 5" heels. Honestly, that should be an Olympic event. Heel height is 5.5", with a 3/4" platform. That qualifies as heroic in my books.
