Hi, yes it is like new, beautiful, soft leather. It also has a long strap so you would be able to wear it on the shoulder, or crossbody.

@annelinarg actually is about 13.5 at the top., and it extends to approximately 17inch . My 12 inch laptop gets in with room left to spare.
