Double Sided Antique Victorian Silver and Glass Pendant with Feather Birds

A stunning and rare double sided Victorian pendant or charm. The sterling frame has two different birds made with feathers and mounted on a background of iridescent blue butterfly wing on one side and a darker black on the other. The vibrant spotted blue morpho butterfly wing side contrasts dramatically with the finely crafted bird image of a bright and colourful Kingfisher perched on a tall spray of green grass. The reverse is brilliant pink ibis standing on a tuft of grass. It is so finely detailed you can see its eye and the wings are three dimensional. The images are set in a sterling rim and covered with domed crystals. The charm measures just under one inch in diameter, the bail adds an additional 3/8" to the length. Excellent antique condition with the crystal covering intact with no noticeable scratches. The silver is oxidized and has only been polished with a soft cloth. It retains the original dark patina. Unmarked, the silver tests sterling with acid. Does not come with a chain. A stunning example of Victorian craftsmanship and artistry.
