...coloured gilt mesh purse, gilt chain mail coin purse A stunning Dresden Art Deco mesh purse, with yellow, pink, orange, green and blue tones to a watercolour style picture of a floral bouquet to both sides of the mesh and a gold toned clasp inset with little blue stones in the acorn-shaped knobs. It's most likely French or German and of a gold plate or gold wash, dating ca 1920s. Delicate and feminine, it is just about large enough to hold a credit card / store card / business card and some cash or a few other small items such as a lipstick and pocket mirror. Condition: good! All the mesh and tassels seem to be present and accounted for. There are a few loose loops in the hinge areas - which do not hinder use. The clasp closes near flush - there is a little gap which could be eliminated with careful bending of the top (which I did not do). The hanging chain looks period correct to the piece. Size: (including the clasp and tassels) 5 inches tall x 3 3/8 inches wide.
