catherinelegate @4getmenots the age can determined by the stamp on the bottom. from what I was told by the dealer who sold us what I have they use different stamps for different periods year wise. They do not loose value and become more valuable the older they get. of course all this depends its condition, size rarity of piece

catherinelegate @4getmenots purchasing for validity of pieces are supposed to be bought from licenced dealers. This is what we were told 20 years ago when we bought what I have. the shop we purchased them from had certification posted in their store showing that they were a licensed dealer. I've not purchased any Capidemonte since and have several pieces from the same dealer

catherinelegate @4getmenots the flower basket I have up in my closet has no damage and is in pristine condition. it was really expensive when we purchased it 20 years ago. With its size, weight, age & excellant condition, my asking price may seem like a lot, but it is fair. With poshmark involved they will also confirm it's quality and validate it. which is want i want done. To not only protect the buyer but to protect my sale as well

catherinelegate @4getmenots I've seen really old pieces that are actually signed being sold very cheep but they have been damaged with cracks or breaks in the piece if you get online you may be able to get a age range for your piece by finding a picture of the stamp most times they will have a value range listed with the stamp. but again finding information on the actual piece is the best way to judge it's value If you can find a dealer in your area they may be able to help

catherinelegate @4getmenots we've owned the pieces I have for 20 years. They were bought new & from a dealer. The basket is one of Capidemonte's larger pieces It weighs 11.5 pounds. it is heavy. it may even be heavier. I'm going by what out digital scale says. I've seen even larger pieces. I only have it up for sale, because we have a five year old running around and it's been stored up in my closet for the past 3 years to protect it.

catherinelegate @monstar366 wow! they are very big! this basket is one of the larger pieces too. heavy. ive always lifted it from the bottom, only using the handle to keep it balanced when im carrying it. because of the weight, i dont trust to just use the handle to move it. i can imagine the pieces you have are quite heavy too. porceline paste is what they use to make them, its quite dence

monstar366 @catherinelegate yes. I hold the bottom versus the handle . Very rare to find. I can across your basket and was amazed how the craftsmanship is the same . I guess I’m not sure on the worth yet . They came from a neighbor who gave them to me before he passed away .

catherinelegate @monstar366 no worries. i knew what you meant. the best way to try to determine worth is by age and condition your pieces are in. perfect/pristine condition, cracks or repairs makes it worth more. To determine age is by the stamp. Capidemonte, like many other makers use certain stamps during different time periods. the ones hardest to determine age are the ones without a makers mark. which i have two without the stamp. i bought all of mine from the same licensed dealer over 20 years ago
