h5reimagined @darth_doxie The funny thing is, I've always had big labs & never liked little dogs. Until one of my daughters friends asked me to take care of Layla for a little bit...3 years ago. 😂But she definitely stole my heart ❤️

darth_doxie @h5reimagined I didn't like them either until I got Pearl! Doxies definitely have that effect on people!!! I'd honestly never own a different breed of small dog because I love bigger dogs. I had a basset hound, Maggie, who passed away last year and I have a pit bull/basset mix (Betsie Loo) that I rescued when she was a pup. Both of them are just large breed dogs on short legs. I'm a dog trainer and I independently rescue pit bulls with my business partner so dogs are literally my life! Lol

h5reimagined @darth_doxie Awe I'm sorry about your lose! That breaks my heart, I had a black lab that I got from my sons friend as a pup that passed away two years ago. I also had 2 bun buns that passed this year. Literally some of the worst things I've ever gone through. I love pits also!!! It's amazing that you rescue fur babies!!!

h5reimagined @darth_doxie I totally wish I could have a rescue. But I'm disabled, so it's not really fair to the fur babies!!! I really admire you for rescuing! All the animals I've ever had were rescues.

darth_doxie @h5reimagined thank you. It's never easy losing a fur baby.😔 I'm sorry for your losses as well. I had 2 buns when I was a girl. They're such great pets!!! I also have a fun variety pack of medical diagnoses that severely impact my ability to do as much as I would like to. That's why we rescue independently. We don't have nonprofit status, instead we work very closely with the 501c3 rescue organizations in our area to assist each other when needed.
