These whimsical ceramic pig figurines were made in Germany in the early 20th century for sale as souvenirs to tourists and visitors to fairs (thus the name "fairing"). The pigs are always pink on green and are engaged in a variety of very human activities. Some were just for fun, while other were often designed to be used as trinket holders, vases or match strikers, like this one (you could also use the tray for pins and the pot fior pencils). They have become very collectible. This fairing is about 3-1/2 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. It is in very good condition for its age, with no remarkable paint loss and no cracks. However, one of the little piggy's ears has been repaired. (I don't think it changes how cute he is).
I will package the item in plenty of bubble wrap, for protection. I am also selling other pig fairings, so check my closet!
