Downsizing This item is a vintage black velvet evening bag or clutch features a square, structured body with a black velvet upper and a pleated or ribbed satin section along the bottom. The most distinctive feature is the ornate gold-tone and cream-colored cameo-style clasp. The bag is primarily made of black velvet, lower portion is a pleated or ribbed black satin/fabric. Design: It has a structured, square shape and a corded shoulder strap. The front features an envelope-style flap closure accented with a prominent, decorative clasp. Hardware & Clasp: The ornate gold-tone clasp features a central cream or ivory-colored oval cabochon (possibly faux pearl or plastic) in a filigree setting, similar to other period bags. This type of ornate hardware was common in vintage evening bags designed to showcase craftsmanship.
