Enamelled brooch by Marion Godart " Paris" African head with dangling

Excellent Condition MARION GODART Paris Mid-Century Asian Revival Inspired Woman Face Brooch Striking enamelled bronze woman face brooch by Marion Godart Paris. It features a well designed black enamelled womens face, with pretty hair and earrings. Nicely detailed design making one think of brooches of the mid-century asian and egyptian revival. Nice thick enamel over a solid bronze base. Large brooch, measuring 2 3/4" x 2", weighing 50 grams (a bit heavy for a shirt, fine for a coat or shawl). Old , never been worn. Marion Godart is a well known French jewelry designer from Paris working with Resin, Lucite and Bakelite since the 1960's. She is known for her brightly colored quirky, yet chic costume jewelry. Inspired by artistic trends of the beginning of twentieth century, her creativity plays with shapes, materials and ethnic influences and color always forms the frame. A pop and unconventional style that gives all pieces joy and dynamism! Marion Godart does not sign her work, but her pieces cannot be mistaken.
