An unusual object originating in the African country of Ethiopia. It is a tall wood plaque that depicts 2 Coptic (in Ethiopia, Tewahedo) priests including a bishop. The bishop is on the top and holds a bible and a staff topped with a cross. The lower half depicts a priest with an object in his right hand, possibly a censer for incense. Both priests wear turbans, which is surprising to Christians in the western world.
The piece is 25 1/8" long, 3 1/4" at its widest and about 1/2" deep.
