I would say there are not too many, and this puzzle captures it all! The puzzle was challenging and fun to complete. It was assembled once and stored in ziplock bag after taking it apart. I am very particular about my puzzles, so I can say with 99% certainty that all pieces are there. The box is in excellent, almost new condition. Comes from smoke-free, clean home.
