Fat Lava Pottery Candle Holder / Oil Lamp Base, Laurentian Pottery, Art Pottery

This great Mid Century Fat Lava candle holder / oil lamp base has a light brown speckled satin underglaze layered with a glossy red and black drippy "fat lava" glaze that, starting from the middle of the piece, runs down forming this wonderful textured surface where shiny glaze becomes pitted drips. It was made by Laurentian Pottery as part of their Roger's Collection in Montreal, Canada. It has a nicely proportioned handle for ease of use. The bottom says "Roger's Montreal 308". It is approximately 4 inches tall (including the handle, 5 inches tall) and about 6 1/4 inches across the belly. The top opening has an outer dimension of 1 5/8 inches and an inner dimension of 1 1/8 inches. It is in very good condition with no cracks or chips or crazing with the exception of a rough area inside the lip of the top opening. Please see all the photos.
