Fiori Francesi ecru leather bootie sandals, EU40, new w/o box

FioriFrancesi is an Italian, family-run business, staffed by an ancient lineage of shoe elves, and their website tagline reads 'Italian women shoes with a French scent'. Hmmm, smells like Margiela. There's always something uniquely and delightfully eccentric in how Italian shoemakers describe themselves. And they have a stylish Instagram page. Just in time for spring pedicures, but with enough coverage to keep your feet warm(ish), this pair of woven leather bootie-sandals are from SS2016, at which time FioriFrancesi was seemingly obsessed with deconstructing booties into sandals, which certainly got my attention. Their shoes are well-made, including hand-finished detailing and lovely soft leather, without being overly precious and unaffordable. This pair is marked size 40 - I can barely get my size 9.5 feet in & zipped, so I think it's safe to call these a solid size 9. A slender-footed 9.5 could probably fit these as well (I'd wear them if I could still wear heels!). The footbed measures exactly 10", with a solid but still feminine 4" heel.
