My Grandmother, Dorothy Barraclough, was a respected artist in Alberta from the late 1960’s - 2000’s. She painted in mostly oil and watercolour.
Although she was an Alberta artist at heart she spent a lot of time visiting Northern Canada frequently while my family lived in Yellowknife for 16 years. During that time she was fascinated with the unique flora & fauna, in this case, she studied how the ptarmigan camouflaged in with the snow covered landscape.
This lovely piece is professionally framed and matted and it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Unfortunately, between the bulk of my Grandmother’s art, and my own art, I just don’t have enough wall space to keep it all.
My Grandmother & I both believed in making original art accessible to the general public. Forget the outrageous high end gallery prices. Art is for everyone. I hope the prices shown on the art I have available seems fair & reasonable given the time and effort that goes into original art. If you desperately want a piece but feel it’s out of your price range don’t be shy about asking for price negotiations.
PLEASE NOTE: There are some scratches round the frame edges where some of the paint has rubbed off during storage. It’s not noticeable unless you’re up close & looking for it but I’ve reduced the price accordingly just the same. Pics of the damage to the highest edge of the frame are shown.
