This is from one of my brother in law 's trips to Mongolia late 90s early 2000s.
No idea what the markings mean.
A charming, slightly abstracted scene. It looks like the artist used watercolor and ink.
I don't know what kind of wood the frame is. It's a panoramic picture frame used for small panoramic shots from 35 mm negatives. Those were 4 inches wide, between 10 - 12 inches long. The image size of the glass looks like 4x10.
Unfortunately there's damage to the picture frame (corner - top right) but it could be touched up and concealed. Not noticeable if hung up on a wall.
Outer dimensions of the frame are 13.5 inches X 5.25
