...dishes A delightful set of porcelain dishes, made in Japan by Fukagawa and marked with their stylized mount Fuji logo. In a bright Blue and orange persimmon leaf-shape, the largest dish is ca 7 3/8 x 5 3/4 x 2" in size. It is showing some wear on the inside of the bowl (scuffing). The smaller dishes with small signs of age and use, and a perfect size for some sweets, a single scoop of ice cream or some sauce next to your plate. There are 5 medium sized plates (5 3/8 x 3 3/4 x 1 inches) and 1 small one (4 x 2 7/8 x 3/4 inches) You will receive the lot (7 dishes total). Dates ca 1960-1970s "The Fukagawa Family, which lit its first ceramic kiln in 1650, founded its own crafts company FUKAGAWA-SEIJI in 1894. The company was awarded the Grand Prize at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, and in 1910 FUKAGAWA-SEIJI was appointed official purveyor to the Japanese Imperial Household. Making all materials, glazes and paints internally from their initial composition down to their finishing touches, this unique company has the largest expert workforce in all of Arita, with seven of the nation's most qualified traditional technical artists producing the world's greatest-quality porcelain."
