Gene Berk 1960s Perfect Condition Apple Maxi Dress

You may not have heard of Gene Berk, but probably have heard of the Paganne label. Paganne was Berk's label. He also designed under the GB3 label. This dress was sold through Saks Fifth Avenue and has both labels. Gene Berk was an illustrator based designer so his pieces are famous for the novelty prints. This one has apples and stripes. The stripes run vertically (very flattering) and at different widths, white on a black background. Then there are simple graphic apples of different sizes scattered over the surface, mostly in shades of pale lilac grey with pale green leaves. There is the occasional red (poisoned?) apple for a pop of colour. I love it! So fun. The prints are highly collectible.
