Gerda Christoffersen Signed Original Nude Pastel on Paper Matted Framed 15.5x19"

*In case it isn't obvious, I've inserted a CENSORED graphic on the photos so I don't break any rules on Poshmark - the graphic IS NOT a part of the original artwork* Vintage original Gerda Christofferson pastel on paper Subject is a beautiful young Indigenous woman with feathers in her hair, nude and wrapped in a blanket, wearing a traditional beaded necklace Signed lower right Professionally matted and framed I believe this dates to late 1960s - early 1970s Frame size approx 15.5" wide, 19" tall Mat opening approx 9.75" wide and 13" tall Gerda Christoffersen was born in in 1917 in Denmark but lived most of her life in Canada and the USA, studying North American Indians and Indigenous Peoples and became known as an authority on the subject. At one point she was honored by the Sioux for her contributions to Indigenous awareness. She died in 2012 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and her artwork has a strong following of collectors. Frame shows some wear, one scratch on the glass at the bottom. Painting itself is in very good condition with no visible damage. The framing nail heads are protruding a little bit on the back.
