Omg how I LOVED Sonic Youth in the 90's.... and still do to some degree, I may have just lost a little bit of tolerance for 20 minute guitar solos that are 100% feedback noise. Dirty is probably THE RECORD to buy if you've never really gotten into them as it's probably their most commercially successful and contains a sh*t-ton of "alternative" classics. I have worn out several copies of this on cassette and CD over the years. A Thousand Leaves is also rare in that it's palpable to the general population. Goo is another favourite of mine. But I could go on about this band ad infinitum. Instead I'll just tell you about a song called Get Into the Groov(y) that i originally found on a compilation of their early stuff called Screaming Fields of Sonic Love (such a good name), and yes it is a cover of the Madonna song. I freakin love this tune because it makes such a perfect juxtaposition with the 80's hyper-poppy neon materialism and the bored, experimental, doped up 90's post-punk, playing together side by side. Instead of dismantling the original altogether, Thurston Moore plays it as though he's singing a duet with Her Madgesty. Chewing pink bubblegum while drinki Pabst Blue Ribbon so to speak. Even though its not originally a Sonic Youth song, it's one of my faves: hilarious, mesmerizing, genius, atonal, and danceable at the same time. As for this sweatshirt, check out all details in the pics! Apparently you have to wash it alone several times to ensure the ink doesnt run.

kellseven As you will see (and I somehow did NOT) there is a circle CUT OUT of the back collar of this sweatshirt!! WhaWHAAA?!! Bought from a vendor at a flea market, I can assume that this hole signifies a very sloppy 5-finger discount. The anti-theft device was crudely removed, so the loud alert would not go off, ensuring said "discount" did go off... without a hitch, I suppose, depending upon your ethical and morals standards.

kellseven But now we're left with this big obvious hole that will need to be (very easily) sewn up, unless you want to look like a 2-bit criminal that is. Dangerous!! p.s. Actual colour of garment is true to the store's stock photos and not the one portrayed by my crappy camera.
