It's a very lovely serene coastal scene featuring a pair of swans in the the foreground, with a cottage and windmill in the background amidst trees and rolling coast. The contrast of the black and white colours, with the complementary gild overlaying the black throughout the dish makes it a striking piece. The rim and footed base also has gold encircling it. At 12"L x 5.5"W, it is one of the larger celery dishes in the market. The back stamp dates this piece from 1911-1921 making it an antique, yet the condition is excellent, without crazing, chips, or cracks. The colours are still vivid.
