Graceful custom made amethyst & sterling ring

A friend had this ring made to order for the large (3/4") and lovely amethyst. Alas, it no longer fits, which is your gain. Size 7, unmarked but jeweller confirmed silver. It's in great shape, with some patina and perhaps a little unevenness to the shine of the stone (I have not had it cleaned).
