Could that bit of material sticking out be trimmed or would it unravel that part of the shoe?

@kylajg1313 i think it could be trimmed or glued down by a cobbler (or by yourself). I had brushed it up for the picture. I didnt notice it when I purchased the shoes. I am Way from home until Thursday (july 1) but will add pictures and follow up with you by the end of the week.
