I have a lot of medical issues but my mommy and daddy take such good care of me and do anything for me. In fact, I went blind last year from cataracts basically overnight. tillie214 @srh018 Hi😊They are the best!!! Your so lucky your are healthy, what kind of allergies does your have?? We were just at the emergency room today with Tille. She has breathing issues, she was stuffy which isn't to abnormal for her BUT then she would pant when she would do anything!!! I thought it was her heart, they think it's allergies... So tonight I gave her Benadryl!! We'll see...... Thank god she CUTE 💜💜💜Its always something with her🐶🐶

It's always something with my little shih-tzu Rascal as well 🐶 And they think it's food allergies, but he's on the vet-recommended food now and still has the issues. He licks his paws until they're raw, so he gets weekly chamomile/oatmeal baths. We give him Benadryl too, but it doesn't seem to do much besides make him very sleepy lol. He's going to be 10 this year and just recently started having seizures as well 😢

First thing her eye doctor asked was if she's diabetic.. She wasn't .. She really went blind like overnight... She only had 1 eye done... Doctor wasn't sure on her healing due to her other illness she has. But she's great , she sees just fine with one good eye😊we still have to go to eye doctor quite often , but totally worth it!!!

tillie214 @flblondie86 You wouldn't want to have the surgery unless she's totally blind.. The cataracts may stay the same for years.. She's doing well.. It's s big commitment doing the surgery, eye drops all the time, constant eye doctors appointments... But now we only go 1 every 8 weeks... It was so worth it though ... Hope your stays well.. pjvarela Your dog is too cute!!!💙 One of my dogs recently went blind too...it broke my heart. When I took him to an ophthalmologist she said he had steroid responsive retinal detachment syndrome 😳 Within a day both retinas completely detached. Two weeks on steroids and his sight started coming back! It's been 6 weeks and he goes back soon to see if his retinas are still fully attached...true animal lovers do anything for their pets 🐶🐱

pjvarela He can see now. He was on 30 mg, then once his retinas completely reattached 20 mg for 3 weeks, and now 10 mg for 3 more weeks before he goes back. The first vet I took him to said he would never see again then continued to ask if I wanted a referral to the ophthalmologist anyway and of course I took him. Vet bills are just soooo expensive and I have 6 rescue animals...I may be crazy because I certainly am not rich😥

I'm right there with you, we still have to go to her ophthalmologist quite often to have her eye checked , for glaucoma and retinal detachment😬Plus she has a autoimmune disease. We rescued her and we always say that she would not be alive if we wouldn't have found each other. It's all part of owning a animal!!!💜

allyoop23 I can appreciate that! I started slowly losing my peripheral sight 10 years ago because of a condition I have & you dont appreciate it til its gone! My docs cant fix it with any laser surgery so once its gone, its gone for good. Its amusing when I bump into things, but seeing properly is so underated until you cant anymore! Im sure she is much happier!

thecatsmeow86 Thank you, he's doing good now. Had a bad fall back in June. Fell six feet on to a marble floor. It was horrible. He couldn't walk or potty for several days. Wasn't sure how it would end up. But thankfully he's made a full recovery. Maybe doesn't run as fast as he used to. I'm good with that, he's here with me. I hope Tillie will start to feel better, she's adorable. 💖 If I do put a pic of him up, I'll try to remember to tag you! 🙊

helenea16 @tillie214 hope to begin to winter in the Outer Banks, NC in a couple of years,then spend the rest of the year here in nh...been here for 26 years and am growing tired of all the winter maintenance. It's beautiful if you don't have to shovel it or drive in it, but I have to do both and rake my roof as well so the charm of it is gone for me.❄️❄️❄️🌨🌨🌨☃️☃️☃️Will do some snowshoeing tomorrow, though,so that will be fun. Lucca loves the snow!

Various autoimmune issues and horrendous allergies, eye problems and she is a pituitary dwarf. She never grew beyond 4 pounds. She is my little angel.

tillie214 @lemurianmuse Oh my!!! She's only 4 pounds??? I thought, feel sometimes that I'm the only one that has such a "sick" dog😰What does yours have auto immune wise? Tillie has pemphigus foliaceus... Which she takes like 12 pills, a day to control. Which then causes over issues, liver... It's just never ending. But what are we going to do. Now she's getting a little dementia at the age of 10😳But we love her no matter what, she was meant for us to rescue her...

lemurianmuse @tillie214 She has what the vet said is a canine type lupus. She has so many skin issues and has been on steroids and antibiotics from secondary skin infections. She has to eat a single ingredient food which is duck and goose; the only thing she doesn't react to. A very good product called Stella and Chewys. When she was 12 weeks old we found she had congenital entropion where her eyelashes turned inside out and she suffered corneal abrasions.

lemurianmuse @tillie214 She also has some liver insufficiency. She was never expected to live beyond 8 years but she just turned 12. She is Fiesty. We have 4 other dogs and they know she is the queen bee, and the alpha dog of the pack. I train dogs, but this little one to me is not a dog. She is a little creature. She gets whatever she wants and doesn't have to be obedient like the others. ☺️

tillie214 @lemurianmuse Awwww, I'm sorry for all her issues. Tillie can only have venison, food allergies too. We go to her eye doctor on Friday for a checkup, she get corneal abrasions quite often. She had a corneal ulceration a couple of months ago, Horrible. Her good eye turned cloudy and had no vision!!! Well you sound like you are a great dog parent and take very good care of her💜💜Nice to meet you, and hear your story🐶

tillie214 @rachelthayer Oh, I'm sorry he has cataracts😓Some dogs adjust so well to being blind, but Tillie was depressed, so I HAD to try the surgery. Her doctor only would due 1 eye due to a auto immune disease she has. Luckily it worked, no complications so far. If she hadn't been so sad, I wouldn't have done it. Give your little guy a big smooch from Tillie🐶💗🐶

tillie214 @nycfirstdiva Yours is awfully cute🐶 Tillie was completely blind, no vision. She had an eye specialist because she had eye problems in the past. She only had one eye done do to some other health issues she has. It's a lot of work when they have cataract surgery. Frequent check ups, drops all the time. But it was all worth it.

nycfirstdiva @tillie214 only in one eye . I thought maybe she injured it in a lil rough housing with the another dog 🐶. The eye was not red or swollen just turning foggy to more cloudy . I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow. That means no shopping for awhile .

meinliebe2 @tillie214 one of mine is a rescue. He was so abused when we got him he hated men. He would attack any man that came close to me. We've had Buster 2 years now and he is so in love with his daddy. If we are out on a potty break daddy has to just pull in Let Buster jump in and then he can pull the rest of the was down the drive. He just takes of and there's no stopping him. It's amazing. We couldn't ask for better. I'd do it all over again. They comfort me.

lemurianmuse @tillie214 Yes. Gypsy was born a dwarf so she is the eternal puppy, even though she is 11. I love her dearly and cant imagine ever being without her. She has such a long list of problems and is a genetic disaster which makes her more lovable. Your Tillie reminded me so much of her. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

addievannah What a sweet girl! I didn't read through all the comments, but I saw that she has an autoimmune disease. One of my dogs has thrombocytopenia and was put on steroids, which then led to diabetes and caused cataracts...she went blind overnight, too! Just wondering if Tillie has the same thing? You're such a good mama to her! ❤️🐶

tillie214 @addievannah Hi😊Im sorry to hear about yours.... Tillie had Pemphigus foliaceus...her body attacks her skin. She was on SO many drugs which leads to other issues as you know. Then I found a lump on her, breast cancer!!! Which had spread to her liver and brain. She passed away. I know all the years of her taking medications caused this. But it was the only way for her to live... I'm so grateful to have been her " mom"...😢 I hope yours is doing well and is happy.
