Hand Stitched Vintage Quilt, Hand Painted Design Heraldic Lion Coat of Arms

A wonderful vintage quilt, completely hand stitched with a custom painted design. This quilt is signed "Quilted by Frances, Painted by Thomas 1975". The large painted section in the middle displays a heraldic lion flanked by two blue fleur de lys and is surrounded by garlands of wild roses and maple leaves. This blanket originated in Alberta, Canada where the provincial flower is wild roses and the national symbol is the maple leaf. Very good vintage condition. Some creasing and light discoloration on the back panel. 93" × 69.5". This size is somewhere in between a twin and full size bed quilt but it could work as a decorative topper for a queen size as well.
