Handmade Raku vase by Hawaiian potter Javier Gaytan Made in Maui The body is a matte, multicolor, natural texture, while the neck is a white crackle glaze with painted turtle silhouettes There is a silver tone turtle charm on a piece of string around the vase's neck Hand signed on the bottom by the artist in gold paint Measures approx 5" wide and 5" tall Each Raku piece is a one of a kind, hand thrown by the artist then fired in an outdoor kiln at 1800'F and paced molten into a pit filed with palm fronds and engulfed in flames. It's then rapidly cooled to achieve vivid colors. In very good condition all around with no chips or cracks, and no other damage. No significant signs of wear. Story tag is included but not attached, it will be inside the vase when you receive it.
