It depicts the members of the Holy Family stopping to rest during their flight from Egypt as they escape King Herod and his murdering army. Hedi's art is replete with lively patterns and exuberant colours that typify her unique style and reflect her deeply personal spiritual insights. The Bible quotation on the reverse is from Matthew 2:14,15. The writing on the reverse of the plate is in German, but the accompanying brochure explains it in English.
