moondragonemp @glesga52 His name is Grim. He was playing in my son's hair when i took the photo. I cropped it and got rid of the green tile wall in the background. I use it as my avatar a lot of places. He's my favorite. I have 4 right now. I had as high as 13 at one time. Some were babies born from Grim and my original 2 females, the rest were rescues. I can't turn down an animal in need.

kahelelani You have a hedgehog?!! 😬 that is a hedgehog right? In Hawaii we don’t have hedgehogs, raccoons, squirrels, snakes, alligators.... we do have lots of Sharks ! 🦈 😆

moondragonemp It's actually a sugar glider. I rescue them. This one is Grim, my alpha male. I also rescue and raise chinchillas. That's one reason I like Totoro so much. He's like a big chinchilla. Wow, there are no raccoons there? I thought they were everywhere. I feed some around here, along with opossums. They know where to come for handouts. I have a lot of squirrels around here because I have a black walnut grove.

moondragonemp @kahelelani She was a rescue, so I never thought about it. It had her 5 years. When I looked it up, it says they live 3 to 5 years as pets, but are lucky to live 2 years in the wild.

theclotheswire @moondragonemp Such a cutie you have too!! I have Cats, some outdoor that won't let me touch them, but they come and look in my glass door when they are hungry!! Three strays, two that I keep in and one who always insisted in going outside. I had cats and dogs when I raised my kids, but didn't want any more animals, but I couldn't resist taking in the stray kittens when one of the outdoor cats stopped nursing them!!

moondragonemp @veryhappy1 We've always had animals. I grew up on a farm, and now I'm running it since my dad passed almost 2 yrs ago. I just have horses now, no cattle. I rescue small animals, which is how I originally got the sugar gliders and chinchillas. I have 1 indoor cat, and the rest are barn cats. I can't resist taking animals in either. Those poor kittens were lucky you were there for them.

moondragonemp @koolcat_vintage I do have pics of the opossums that come to my door for hand outs. One scratches on the door to get attention because she has seen the cat do it. She'd probably come in if I let her. My sons sit on the porch with a sack of bread and hand it out sometimes to the opossums and the raccoons. No one goes hungry around here. Then they all go to my neighbor's house to eat more because she feeds everything too.

moondragonemp @mysusieque I couldn't imagine my life without animals. I chose to rescue small animals because they are often forgotten. A lot of rescues around here won't take them, only cats and dogs. When they do, they don't know how to handle them.

mysusieque @moondragonemp We have a feral cat colony we have TNR’d and are down to 3 who have been here 6 years now. I am human Mom to 2 and can pet, love, get flea treatment, etc. (we provide insulated shelters, etc.) other one will not let me touch him. They are wonderful. Food is shared by foxes and raccoons when they come around. Love animals!

moondragonemp @ssstudios Yes, they are neat pets. I have 13 at the moment, including my own. Some of my rosaries are posted on here. I still have some to photograph yet. I can do a rosary basically any way someone wants it. You pick the beads: everything from glass and resin to seeds and gemstones. I have a lot of different centerpieces and crucifixes/crosses. they range from metal to crystal and gemstone. Basically I can make a rosary pretty much any way you want it. I do themes. Even sports teams ones.

moondragonemp @ladyarachnid Yes, I saw Tom. Love his expression! Two of my sons are in college, so my fur babies get all the attention these days when they are gone. I know how the shed thing goes. I wear black 99% of the time, and my cats always want to get on my lap before I leave the house. I pack my stuff in a room they aren't allowed in so I can try to keep hair off stuff.

Maybe I can add to later. My husband and I got married in 1973 and we have always walked train tracks. The Heir is significant too. 🍀🍀🍀

These were bought for my grandmother by my grandfather every year. I originally had 1952 through 1989. The ones I have on here are the only ones I have left at this point.

moondragonemp @comfycrafts1430 I rescue the 1s that fall between the cracks. Around here animal shelters only take cats & dogs. They can't care for anything else. They call me when something else comes in. I started out years ago rescuing 1 chinchilla thrown out with the trash. It snowballed from there, but I love it.

moondragonemp @comfycrafts1430 The guy in the main photo is my sugar glider Grim. He was also a rescue that never left. I do re-home many animals after thoroughly vetting the potential new owner. Fortunately, my husband was an animal lover as well. My sons help, and I have volunteers who pitch in. I do have some rescue horses & a couple goats.

yourbadlilangel aww... gotta love the sugar gliders! I had one named Chunté for almost 12yrs. Such a fantastic pet, but they need a lot of love/patience/effort/food prep/etc. Not a pet you p/u on a whim. Which is sadly why there's a need for what you do. When a pet proves to be too much work for a person, most abandon it. So thank you for what you do. My Chunté would've been happy to sit in your pocket, of this I'm sure.🥰♥️🖤💜🤎💙💚💛🧡💗

moondragonemp @yourbadlilangel Yes, people toss animals away when the novelty wears off. We get calls all the time asking us to p/u animals. Some are landlords calling because renters moved & left animals behind. Some aren't found in time & don't make it. I cry over every one of them. The ones we save & find good homes for is what keeps me going. We rescued 14 sugar gliders from 1 person once. She just kept buying them until she couldn't care for all of them.

moondragonemp @bobbienjoying Sadly, that is a bad thing about hedgehogs. We do our best to make rescued 1s have a good life however short it is. Losing rescues is always hard.
