Authentic antique aquatint engraving from the Georgian era by British sporting artist Henry Thomas Alken (1785-1851). This large panoramic print, titled "Newmarket: Training," depicts thoroughbreds and jockeys on Newmarket Heath.
Published circa 1820-1825 by S & J Fuller of London and engraved by Thomas Sutherland, this hand-colored aquatint captures the energy of 19th-century sporting life. Alken is renowned as one of the finest sporting artists of his time.
