HERMES silk scarf named 'L'Instruction du Roy (en l'Exercice de Monter a Cheval)', by Henri d'Origny designed - first issued in 1993. 100% Jacquard Silk. The title and the idea for the design of this scarf derive from an ancient book, entitled "The art and practice of riding a horse", written by Antoine de Pluvinel in 1629. Beige colorway. Measurements: 35 × 35 inches. 'HERMES PARIS' printed on the right lower quadrant. Hermes copyright symbol on the upper left quadrant. Hermes discontinued production using this woven silk fabric in the 1990s To note: this item has been well loved. While there are no holes or damages, there is very pale blue shading (see image with Pointer) and some light laddering. Overall beautiful scarf with the volume and body and sheen you would expect from a luxury fabric and brand. Purchased from an estate sale, history beyond 2 years unknown. Selling because it just doesn't get the wear and exposure it deserves.
