This commemorative scarf benefits the Friends of Skillman Library and the Lafayette College Art Collection. The image of the marquis with his attendant, believed to be James Armistead, is based on the painting Lafayette at Yorktown by Jean-Baptiste Le Pain in Lafayette College's collection. Armistead served as a spy for Lafayette behind enemy lines, helping to bring about the American victory in the Yorktown Campaign.
I purchased this scarf in 2015 for $850 and it was part of my collection for 10 years. I have never worn it and it looks and feels like new: spotless, plump, odour free.
Now, when I am retired, I am offloading my high-end accessories to raise cash and for them to find a new mistress.
