deedeesmiles4u@2girls2122 bone cancer is so painful. I hope she's getting the meds she needs. My bff, who I took care of, had her cancer spread to her bones. I have never seen such pain. I had to be so forceful to get her adequate meds. Thanks about the girls. The blonde is my step niece who is a sweetie. The dark haired one is my niece who I helped raise.

deedeesmiles4u@standoutstaple I'm so sorry about your mom. It's hard. I lost mine 9 years ago. I think of her daily. I try to bring awareness to stage 4 b/c I cared for my bff until she died. I became very involved in the community, volunteering for a nonprofit 2 friends started. It was 4 of us at 1st so many hats! Of the 4 closest, I've lost 3. I did most after my bff. After the 3rd I cried & got a tattoo for the 4. I've stepped back but still help, support and promote info. I want research, not ribbons.

There's a project the mbc project, out of the broad center and Farber in Boston. I know the docs running it. She may be interested. It's a simple spit test. The aim is a cure. Thinking of you both.

deedeesmiles4u@standoutstaples I'm so sorry there was no hospice. We had them w/my mom at home. There were also a #of people helping. W/my friend it was terrible. It was only me. They gave up.luckily the local hospital, seeing how I brought her in for pain shots, found a hospice house. We lived there 3 weeks till she died. I had met people in chat groups so I was hooked in before and they supported me through the end.

paulpookie492She's had 4 reoccurrences. Chemo x4 and just had Stem Cell replacement about 6 months ago. She's in remission now. She had breast surgery to repair a torn breast implant from a fall. She's extremely tough.

MSW, lots of friends with msw. one of my good friends went to Simmons for hers. we met at an internship. i did the doctorate b/c my undergrad advisor said in psych i needed it. not so much now, except for testing which i do love. are you in private practice? do you have an area of special interest?

I'm no longer actively involved in brest cncer advocacy. i was very active but losing so many, i stepped back. now i support individuals and groups like the cancer couch, which gives 100% to research. the founder sadly died this weekend. a lot if grief.

I'm pretty active in 350MA. after the new year i am going to join extinction rebellion as well. i love their direct action techniques. i decided each month to donate to a charity b/c i can't give as much as I'd like alone. The 5 categories are Women's Rights, Immigration, LGBTQ, Civil Rights and Climate Change! ALL the proceeds go to the ACLU of Baltimore which is a human rights advocacy located around the entire nation with homeless shelters that provide food and safety! The Climate fund donations go to the UMD Climate Fund which has reduced their emissions by 50% this year!

I'm guessing zuzu is from the Baltimore area? it feels good to do for others. we need more people doing that and on a collective level. tonight's protests were an example but it's hard in a country as diverse and not used to having to stand up for themselves. social justice is such an important focus especially at this moment in history.

2tropical@deedeesmiles4u I'm in Montreal for a couple of months.... just being lazy as I have more time than I should and should be selling up here... I'm going to try to learn French as it is very French everything is French.... The YMCA classes are all done in french and then ... a word or two in English.... it is fun to try to fake not knowing a language.... I have learned to act like I belong and I seem to blend .... even though I have no clue what is being said!!!! I broke my collar bone 2x PAINFUL

2tropicalThis "opportunity" came up at Christmas.... not my choice but making the best of it.... I drove up here stayed Hershey and the people I met at the bar at the hotel are like are you crazy.. WINTER.... "I am a damn yankee that moved south and will NEVER move NORTH in the Winter except .... NOW? I get why they were asking... I'm used to beach temps, 25 degrees now norm.... I stayed here in Mar/Apr. 19, weather was good. I'm going to do a posh or ints post showing pic of Montreal lot to see

MBC sucks. i don't have it. i was caretaker for my bff and then became very involved in the community. when were you dx'ed? how are you doing? i donate even when I'm donating to another cause here. i like to give to metavivor and the cancer couch as they give 100% to research. are you in any support groups? posh is a very kind space. it's also helpful that you can do the work when you're up to it. thanks for reaching out.

deedeesmiles4u@grakaoc ok, I'll do that. yes, I am donating 20% of profits across platforms for dec and jan to mbc research. i was the caretaker of my bff after she progressed to stage 4. to help her, i became very involved in online mbc groups which led to volunteering with a group 2 of my mbc friends started. i made some of the deepest friendships even though we were all over. we did see each other. sadly 3 i was closest to are gone. how has mbc come into your life?

I just started Poshing about a week ago and from the beginning, I don't like the feel of a closet that doesn't share who you are. When I visit a Posher, I find it more fulfilling to get to know them, in a very small way of course. As I read about who they are, I find myself WANTING to share their listings versus those who advertise just their wares.

deedeesmiles4u@grakaoc thanks. i will. mbc is very close to my heart. i speak out whenever i see incorrect info. while I'm no longer heavily involved in the nonprofit (losing 3 good friends in 8 months i had to step back to grieve), i support and give. i think I said dec &jan i am giving 20% to a great org that another friend (who just died) started. 100% of funds are matched! i notify each buyer at the end of the month. feb I'll be away 2 weeks so may wait until march. I'll be choosing another charity.

I've gotten down to 4 vegetarian dinners a week. it's so cool how people volunteer their time/money in different ways to help the survival of our species. i don't think I've bought anything new(besides underwear and bathing suits) in quite awhile. on posh, i donate 20% to metastatic breast cancer. most of my donations and volunteer work go to climate. i have been canvassing a bit for Warren since it's primary season!

cakegma@deedeesmiles4u Didn’t want to keep taking up someone else’s feed. If I do not get my treatment my blood count goes down. I lost 1/2 a long many years ago because they did not know I had this problem. It is hereditary however I don’t have any idea if there is anyone else in my family in previous years that had it. The technology wasn’t in place then. I have been getting this treatment for 19 years.

Folks are flocking here from all over the country and sadly if you go out you would think nothing at all is going on. Our numbers have been spiking for several weeks now, not surprisingly. We just go out for necessities (wearing a mask) and try to avoid crowds all together.

deedeesmiles4u@wowtreasures aww. how sweet. I did have covid and was pretty sick..but I got to have a vacation 1st! I got it while away but wasn't symptomatic until I got home. It was my 3d time. In dec it was much milder. I'm a lot better, just some fatigue. I really appreciate your note xo

My cousin's name was Kelly Ranae Maurer from VA.💓 I'm awaiting more tests to see what's causing my health issues. I read all your comments & you have a beautiful heart & soul. Thank you! southpawz@deedeesmiles4u had a swab test done at my dr, came bk inconclusive, so I have to have another. Kelly had the triple neg gene, so did our maternal grandmother. I've found some lumps in other areas closely related. Going to first specialist in July. Liver is enlarged, keep loosing weight & my hair, among other things & they dont know why yet. 😣🙏

My bff who I was the primary caretaker for, had triple negative mbc. I'm going to spend a little time in meditation sending healing energy to you. can't hurt ((hugs)))

deedeesmiles4u@aliciam0824 I'm sorry to hear that. I was very involved with mbc, I cared for my best friend and made many friends. I did a lot of volunteering, activism for research etc. now I support with $ from posh. I also try to spread awareness that mbc is the only kind that kills(I know people who are 15 years with it) and 7% of research $ goes towards it. I'll be thinking of you
