beautiful and highly ornate hicks& meigh fine bone english China heavily gilded in gold old world romany potter style paint job. Truly beautiful hand painted circa 1806-1822 from before they joined Johnson and became hicks meigh & johnson has all the unmistakably hicks&meigh hallmarks including handpainted red number on bottom. no cracks or chips one Smudge and some minor fading in the gold gilt along the edges from age and use. in amazing condition around 200 years old other hicks& meigh pieces shown for example only this listing is for the set pictured in the main photo marked 606 or 909 depending which way you look at it -many hicks & meigh patterns are uncatalogged and this is one. neither 606 or 909 is cataloged in the official Ridgway index but if you go look at #s 600-900 you can see all the similarities. asiatic style branches and fancy dot work and symmetry were why they became known as some of the greatest potters in all of England. stunning set.
