Vintage Emile Henry blue casserole with lid, made in France model 5500, I believe this is from the 1980’s Durable non-stick scratch-resistant glazed surface cleans up quickly, easily and to like-new every time - refer photos! Beautiful on display when not in use! With even heat distribution this clay baker is ideal for soups and stews, and serving! Bake and take… right to the table! Lid keeps food warm. Very good condition-see photo (with dime for reference) showing minor flaws on underside of lid. Otherwise piece has no chips or cracks. 📝 Variations in the finish/colour is the nature of these EH high quality pieces; they are a result of the manufacturing process and not damage; they in no way affect performance. I’ve included a photo (last PIC) of one such area which appears as 3 tiny white spots. These same spots are visible in the Cover Shot as well and for clarity I’ve circled them ⭕️ in the last photo. The rough spot on the bottom edge of the piece, which is over-glazed with blue, is also how piece was received when new. Good videos available online showing the hands-on manufacturing process.
