This is a Classic early 1960's Hat. The opening is 22cm across (9") and the brim is 10cm (4"). I believe that the brim is intended to curl upwards. the outer edge of the brim has a wire. the inside of the hat has mesh.The cream top is velvet that has been crushed, and has a small hole along a fold line see picture, but is undamaged otherwise. The spectacular 1960's orange, brown and metallic gold fabric is an early polyester, there are a few tiny fibers sticking out. A good steaming and forming on a head form should restore this beauty to its original shape.
