Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain ‘Beauties of the Red Mansion’

Limited edition plate (1987) from China National Arts & Crafts and master artisan Zhao Huimin. Based on the classic 18th century romance novel ‘A Dream of Red Mansions’ or Hung Lou Meng. This is Hsi-Feng third in the plate series, aka Wang Xifeng. She is the most worldly woman in the story and the second in authority to the Great Matriarch. She is described as capable, clever, humorous, and at times vicious and cruel. The plate is in excellent condition. Plate measures 8.5” across. Comes in box with the original documents. The materials used are decorative and not suitable for serving food.
