Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain ‘Beauties of the Red Mansion’

Limited edition plate (1985) from China National Arts & Crafts and master artisan Zhao Huimin. Based on the classic 18th century romance novel ‘A Dream of Red Mansions’ or Hung Lou Meng. Pao-Chai, aka Xue Baochai, is represented in first plate in the series. She is described as worldly-wise and tactful; beautiful and ambitious. Plate is in excellent condition. Plate measures 8.5” across. Comes in box. The materials used in the plates are decorative and not suitable for serving food.
