Indigenous deerskin medicine pouch with eagle design by Jos Binne

Small vintage deer hide medicine pouch by Huron - Quebec artisan Jos Binne. This one-of-a-kind handmade pouch is created with top quality Canadian deer skin, ink and a pyrograph (burning tool). Leather neck strap is approximately 31" long (15.5" drop) and has a drawstring closure. Excellent vintage condition. Measurements (approximate): pouch 2″ x 3.5″ (5cm x 8cm) Jos Binne (1949- ) was born in Quebec City of Huron and French descent. His love of leathercraft became a profession in 1976. Living in Vancouver since 1988, Jos is also a composer and artist whose music and paintings are inspired by his indigenous heritage.
