Vintage oval serving platter from the "Maidstone" earthenware series, decorated in the "Bianca" pattern designed by Eve Midwinter and manufactured in the 1970's by J & G Meakin, Haley, England.
This mid-century modern ironstone Studio Ware oval platter/dinner plate has a lovely 1970’s pattern, featuring a brown scrolled design that encompasses a large beije daisy in the centre, on a mocha brown background, bordered by concentric circular stripes/circles on a fine oatmeal glaze - The striking Bianca design by Eve Midwinter, epitomises 1970's style and captures the spirit of the time.
The Studio Ware was launched in 1966 and was one of Meakin’s most successful designs continued in production until the late 1970's with a continuous stream of patterns being produced. The vast range of floral, geometric, and abstract designs make Studio Ware highly collectible.
