JKW is for Josef Kuba Werkstätte (Workshop), Bavaria, Western Germany, who decorated in the Royal Vienna-style. The Western Germany mark dates it to after 1949 when Germany was divided into East and West. Heavy beaded gold filigree border around each scene depicting courting couples on the cup and saucer. Love Story figural scenes are in transfer and reproduced from the work of Jean-Honoré Fragonard, a French Rococo-era artist, 1732-1806. Measurements: Cup 2.5” tall x 4.25” diameter (across the top). Saucer 4.75” diameter. EXCELLENT vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs; some minor wear consistent with age.
