JKW is for Josef Kuba Werkstätte (Workshop), Bavaria, Western Germany, who decorated in the Royal Vienna-style. JKW mark stamped over a Hutschenreuther mark on base (it was common for decorating shops to use whiteware produced by other factories like Hutschenreuther). Western Germany mark dates it to after 1949 when Germany was divided into East and West. Heavy gold filigree border around each scene depicting courting couples along the edges. Love Story figural scenes are in transfer and reproduced from the work of Jean-Honoré Fragonard, a French Rococo-era artist, 1732-1806. Dimensions: 13” long x 6” wide x 1" tall. EXCELLENT vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs; some minor wear consistent with age.
