I purchased these jeans in Japan directly from the maker 4-5 years ago. It is unfortunately too large for me (I'm generally size 27). Japan is known for quality craft denims and this pair is no exception. The denim has lovely hand and is very comfortable despite being heavier pure cotton denim. Wish it had worked for me!

Could you measure the hips please?

@emiliacatarina hi, the widest part of hip measures about 21.5". hope this helps!

I’m wondering if the waist goes more narrow than the hip area? I’m more square so can’t wear a tapered waist. Otherwise love them.

Can I see a picture of them on??

@annemich Hi, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, I am away from home until Wednesday. Let me share the product page of the same jeans (it is in Japanese but you can see the pictures of it on actual person. I don't know what to say about the pattern of the jeans (square or tapered)... but the hip measurement according to the website is almost 39 inches, so you could probably estimate the ratio between waist and hip. I don't think it is particularly tapered considering it is an unisex item.

Please note, I purchased the jeans 5 years ago so the specification on the current website may not be precisely applicable.

Oops, I did measure the actual hip for the previous commenter! 21.5" with possibility for small shrinkage which should stretch back with wear. This should help you figure out the waist:hip ratio!
