Jil Sander Navy tan leather platform wedge sandals, EU40, NWT

I've always loved Jil Sander's minimalist aesthetic, and I had always envisioned wearing these platform wedges with long flowy neutral colored linen dresses or palazzo pants, but as it turns out, I never actually wore them at all... like so many other shoes in a shoe dragon's hoard, they languished in the box for years, forgotten until now. This pair was purchased in 2014, but according to the fashion world, sky-high platforms are back in this year. Of course as far as I'm concerned, nothing is ever out of style provided you're willing to commit to whatever aesthetic you feeling like rocking on any given day. Given how often 'Fashion' rotates the same styles in and out, year after year, I find it's best to just ignore whatever they're peddling and go with your own inspiration. They do fit my size 9.5 feet, slightly snug across the toebox but I imagine the leather will stretch. Such a stark, simple design but so elegant! The platforms are covered in a matte white rubbery material that can easily pick up scuffs, but I've found that a white rubber eraser works really well for taking care of any stray markings.
