Ceramic beaker commemorating the Coronation of King Edward VIII, on May 12th, 1937. This is the coronation that never happened, as Edward abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson.
Front features a portrait of Edward, with a banner saying "Coronation H. M. King Edward VIII". The back has a knight on horseback, and “ER 1937”. There is a design of leaves around the inside top.
Bottom is marked “Royal Doulton England, Made in England, Coronation 12th May 1937”
Approximately 4” (10cm) tall and 3.25” (8.1cm) in diameter across the top.
No chips, cracks, or crazing. There are several small random marks under the glaze, as shown. Please zoom in on photos.
