Kindi Has A Wonderful Shape With A Bottom Rim For Support, A Large Belly To Hold Water, A Smoothly Curved Neck, And A Wide Mouth On The Top Of The Neck To Receive Water. Kindi Is A Type Of Indian Lota Or Chambu With A Spout Mostly Used In Kerala State, India, As A Multipurpose Vessel.
Uses Of Kindi?
It Is Used As A Water Dispenser For Various Pooja Rituals And Daily Ablutions. Was Also Used For Religious Or Wedding Ceremonies. Kindi’s Were Used To Hold And Dispense Holy Water (Usually Water From The Holy River The Ganges – “Gangajal”) As A Symbol For Purity And Cleansing Of The Soul. Traditionally Used During Hindu Worship Rituals As A Means To Dispense Holy Water Without Allowing The User's Hands To Dirty The Water As It Is Being Poured Out. The Kindi Is Also One Of The Sets Of Vessels, Traditionally Given To New Brides.
