La Bottine Souriante Designer Insipired mademoiselle block heel

Purchased on a recent trip to UK. Felt ok in the store but not so much once I got home - now they just feel too tight. I am a true size 39.5 but typically wear a size 40 in shoes as I have a wider foot. These are labelled a size 41 on the actual shoe but the sticker label says UK 7. There is an inconsistency. On me the length is ok but it is too narrow in the toe area (too tight but ok in length). Beautiful shoe. Wish the size worked. Great height for Casual look with jeans or for work!
