Lancaster's in Moonlight a *NEW* 11" x 14" Print by Aviation Artist Brian Chapman - A Great Father's Day Gift or gift for anyone who LOVE'S aviation! The way this beautiful art piece was created by Brian was first building a model and then hand painting the aircraft. The background was a photo taken by him of the sky at night. After that was done he downloaded it to the computer where he opened it up in photoshop. That was back in 2005 when he started doing this as an artform. The process wasn't done there. After painting the aircraft, he would either utilize studio lights or take photos outside with the same type of lighting conditions as he wanted in the art piece. In this particular case he used studio lighting. For some of his daylight pieces. He used the natural lighting outside. Once he had his photos of the aircraft & it was the way he liked it. He would then cut out the aircraft in photoshop. Technology is a lot easier now where you can do that process much faster. That said, he carefully cut it out in photoshop & merged it with the photo he took on that moonlight night. The studio lighting was always thought out beforehand so that the angle of the light in the natural moonlight photo matched what he had set up in the studio. Especially, when it came to glare & reflections on the aircraft. That is how he came out with this piece, which is his all-time bestseller.
