Large 1960s space age pop art pure wool rug Desso "Amoeba" rya rug 6ft diameter

This super groovy pop art wool rug is soft and colourful and was made my Desso Germany in the 1960s-70s. This is a collectible design and came in several colourways when it was first produced. It's becoming much harder to find (currently, this is the only other I can find online in this colourway: https://www.whoppah.com/products/orange-yellow-round-amoeba-desso-carpet-C1XPAAEHM7TB) The colours of this rug are fabulous. Although the fibres are not "shag" like they were 50+ years ago, there are no bald spots and the rug shows very well, despite a few minor areas of discolouration (an area that is a little darkish on the light background and one that is lightish on the brown), as shown in the last two photos. Keep in mind, though, that this is in good VINTAGE condition - not brand new condition. This rug is soft underfoot and is easy to care for: just submerge in a bathtub or baby pool and swish around with a lanolin-based cleaner and air dry. I have done this every summer since purchasing it years ago and it cleans as well as softens the fibres. You can also lay it in freshly fallen snow in cold weather, sprinkles some snow on top and brush around. this is the traditional way to clean these rugs and you can find detailed instructions for this by searching traditional rya rug cleaning.
